Suntastic Swim School understands that there will be times when it is necessary to cancel a swimming lesson due to illness or inclement weather. The air and water temperature are important factors in providing a suitable teaching environment and at all times the safety and interest of the student defines whether a lesson should be kept or cancelled.
It is not a problem to teach a lesson in the rain if the temperature is tolerable, particularly in mid-summer. After all we do get wet swimming in the pool every week!
At the end of the day it is your choice to cancel a lesson for any reason, however, to ensure consistency and fairness for all clients and instructors, we would like to summarize our cancellation policy below:
In the event of a cancellation by you (the client), with 48 hours notice, Suntastic Swim School will provide you with a make-up lesson without charging a cancellation fee ($50). This will be arranged at a time that suits both yourself and the instructor within (2) weeks of the lesson cancellation.
Cancellations due to illness will be accepted up to 12 hours prior to a lesson. Please call your instructor to schedule a make-up date/time. They will have contacted you prior to your first lesson to exchange phone numbers.
Cancellations due to unavailability should be 7 seven days prior to schedule class, and in this case make up lessons will be offered to you. Unless confirmed prior to the start of a lesson session, a maximum of two classes can be rescheduled due to unavailability.
If an instructor is unable to keep a lesson due to illness or misadventure, the instructor will call you as soon as we are aware that there is a problem. We will offer you a replacement instructor where possible, or the opportunity to reschedule the class at a time that suits you. You will be given a credit (one lesson fee) towards a future swim lesson package if a rescheduled time cannot be made within 2 weeks of the cancellation.
Even in the case of poor weather, if an instructor is either en-route or arrives at your home and there has been no or insufficient notification of a cancellation (thunderstorms excluded) no make up lesson can be offered. You will not be able to make up that lesson.
When Suntastic Swim School believes the weather is unsuitable for swimming, we will contact you to postpone a class. However, we do cover a broad range of areas and pool settings, so if we have not contacted you, and you believe the weather / temperature is unsuitable to swim, please call your instructor directly.
Suntastic Swim School will never cancel a class without attempting to contact you, so please DO NOT assume a class is cancelled if the weather is poor.
Should you wish to cancel a lesson prior to the 48 hour window, please call the instructor to make a cancellation. If you cancel a lesson within the 48 hour window, you will not be able to make up that lesson.
Pool Quality: because proper swim instruction requires a specific area and depth to operate, instructors will not conduct swim lessons or event life guarding in "kiddie" pools or any other type of pool that does not meet the necessary requirements for a proper instruction setting.
Suntastic Swim School instructors reserve the right to cancel any lesson where they do not feel safe or the pool area is not safe for giving proper swim instruction. Similarly, if the instructors feels as though his/her safety may be compromised during the lesson (adult or child), they are instructed to leave the site and contact the owner immediately.
If Suntastic Swim School needs to cancel a class for any reason, we will attempt to provide a make-up class. If a make up class is not made available, credit will be applied to your account.
Lifeguard
After 2 or 3 hours, each additional half hour is $25 (which is $50 per hour) per lifeguard.
If you need to cancel our services due to or an unexpected circumstance, with less than 48 hours notice of the party date, we must charge our minimum billing which will be the amount equal to 50% of the booking. Please call (904) 800-SWIM(7946)
If canceling with more than 48 hour notice, we give a full refund. Any tip you would d like to give after the party to the guards can be made in cash and received with thanks.
If your party is cancelled due to bad weather, we will work with you on rescheduling the event. If you cancel the party, we will issue a full refund.
Suntastic Swim School instructors reserve the right to cancel any life guarding services where they do not feel safe or the pool area is not safe for giving proper swim supervision. Similarly, if the instructors feels as though his/her safety may be compromised during the event (adult or child), they are instructed to leave the site and contact the owner immediately. A full refund will be made if the customer has prepaid for event.
